Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, and do not require a physical or digital signature. They govern your use of jatanorganics.com and its sub-domains (the "Website") operated by Jatan Organics ("Jatan Organics", "we", "us", "our"), a home-based food business in India licensed under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (FSSAI licence number shown in the Website footer). By using the Website or placing an order you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 to place an order or create an account. By using the Website you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Your account

• You can shop as a guest or with an account. An account is created automatically on your mobile number when you place your first order, or when you sign up with a mobile number, a one-time code, or Google Sign-In.
• You are responsible for keeping your password and login codes confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been used without permission.
• The information you give us must be accurate and kept up to date. We may suspend or close accounts that provide false information or misuse the Website.
• You may delete your account at any time by contacting us (see section 13).

3. Products

• Our products are hand-made food items produced in small batches without added colours, preservatives or standardising additives. Natural variation in colour, aroma, texture and consistency between batches is normal and is not a defect. Cold-pressed oils may be cloudy, strongly scented, or solidify in cool weather.
• Product descriptions, weights and images are provided in good faith. Illustrations on the Website are representative; actual packaging may differ.
• Stock is limited to what has been ground or pressed. The "X of Y left" indicator is our best estimate and an item may become unavailable after you add it to your cart.
• Nothing on the Website is medical or nutritional advice. Our products are food, not treatments or cures. Consult a doctor if you have allergies or health conditions.

4. Orders and acceptance

• Placing an order on the Website is an offer to buy. An order is accepted, and a contract formed, only when we confirm it to you by phone, WhatsApp or SMS.
• We may decline or limit any order — for example if a batch has run out, your pincode is not serviceable, the order appears fraudulent, or a pricing error has occurred. If we decline an order you have already paid for, we will refund it in full.
• You can cancel an order until it is marked "Packed" in My orders by messaging us. Orders cancelled after packing cannot be refunded, since the product was prepared for you.

5. Prices and payment

• All prices are in Indian Rupees (₹) and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Delivery charges, if any, are shown before you confirm your order.
• We may change prices at any time; the price displayed when you place an order is the price you pay.
• Payment is by cash on delivery for local orders. For courier orders we may require UPI or bank transfer before dispatch, which we will tell you at confirmation. We do not store card or bank details.
• If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price, we may cancel the order and inform you.

6. Delivery

Delivery timelines, areas, charges and missed-delivery rules are set out in our Shipping & Delivery policy, which forms part of these Terms. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Please check the parcel at the time of delivery and report any damage within 48 hours.

7. Replacements and refunds

Because our products are perishable food items, we do not accept returns of opened products. Replacement and refund conditions are set out in our Refunds & Replacements policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary: damaged, wrong or spoiled-on-arrival items reported within 48 hours are replaced free; refunds, where due, are made by UPI/bank transfer within 7 working days or credited as Jatan coins at your choice.

8. Jatan coins and offers

• Coins are a loyalty reward, not money. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged for cash, and are credited to your account when an order is marked delivered. If that order is later cancelled or refunded, the coins are reversed.
• Coins can be used for up to the percentage of an order shown at checkout. We may change the earning rate, the usage limit, or discontinue the programme with reasonable notice on the Website. Unused coins in a deleted or inactive account lapse.
• Offer codes are subject to the conditions shown with the code (minimum order, expiry, usage limits). One code per order. We may withdraw an offer at any time and may cancel orders that abuse offers (for example, multiple accounts on one household to reuse a first-order code).

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Website to do anything unlawful; to place fraudulent or bulk-reselling orders without our agreement; to attempt to access other customers' data or our systems; to copy or scrape the Website; or to post or send abusive content to our team.

10. Intellectual property

The Jatan Organics name, the जतन wordmark, logo, illustrations, text and design of the Website belong to Jatan Organics. You may not reproduce or use them without our written permission, except to share links to the Website.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jatan Organics' total liability for any claim arising from an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the rights of consumers to approach the appropriate Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, the courts of the city in which Jatan Organics is registered shall have exclusive jurisdiction. Before going to court, please contact our Grievance Officer so we can try to resolve the matter.

13. Grievance Officer and contact

As required by the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and the Information Technology Act, 2000:

Complaints are acknowledged within 48 hours and resolved within one month wherever possible.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on the Website; the "Last updated" date will change. Orders already accepted are governed by the Terms in force when they were placed.

15. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Refunds and Shipping policies are the entire agreement between you and Jatan Organics regarding the Website.
